Once you have decided you want the flexibility of having a Marriage Celebrant, you give me a call on (07) 41523059 or 0407451770 or email me at vikki@weddingsbyknight.com.au to check availability of your preferred dates for your perfect day.  I will also answer any of your burning questions about the ceremony and legal requirements and make an appointment for us to meet and discuss this exciting event.

Our First Meeting and Fees

We will discuss your ideas for your wedding ceremony including readings , vows, music  and poems—the idea is to make this your perfect day, your perfect way, so apart from the legal requirements the ceremony is ours to design and create.  You can write your own vows or I can give you samples to take away with you.  Nothing is final at this meeting and we can talk and email as much as you like to ensure it is just as you dreamt it would be. 

We can also talk about venues and the importance of alternate options for wet or inclement conditions—there are lots of things to think about and my handy preparation checklist should hopefully prompt your thinking.

At this meeting we will complete a Notice of Intended Marriage Form with you and lodge this on your behalf.  This form must be lodged with me one month and 1 day before the date of your ceremony or no more than 18 months before the wedding date you have chosen.   You will need to bring:

· An original birth certificate if born in Australia (Available from the Register of Births, Deaths and Marriages in your state) NOTE THAT IF YOU ARE BORN IN AUSTRALIA YOU MUST PRODUCE ONE

· An original birth certificate or passport if born overseas (including certified translation if required)

· If previously married—divorce papers or original Death Certificate that proves dissolution of previous marriages.

My fee is $380 and I do not discriminate between the haves and the have nots.  I believe everyone deserves the utmost service for their big day and will happily have as many meetings as it takes for you to feel comfortable and secure knowing your day will be your perfect day in your perfect way. My fee includes the cost of preparing and lodging all of the legal paperwork , a rehearsal, your personalised ceremony, marriage certificate, a personal gift from me to you, a keepsake copy of your ceremony and all of the phone calls, emails and moral support you need to ensure that this is the most memorable day of your life.

A non-refundable fee of $220 is required to be paid at our first meeting to secure the date and time for your wedding with the balance of monies to be paid 2 weeks prior to the ceremony date.  Of course, if you would prefer to pay off your ceremony—please ask as I am very flexible.  Also, if you are planning a wedding between Monday and Thursday, please ask me about my special week rates.

Travel beyond 50km of the Bundaberg CBD will incur an additional fee, however, I am reasonable and negotiable so please chat with me about your requirements before dismissing me as an option. 

Our Second Meeting

Some couples will choose not to have a second meeting or a rehearsal and that is ok—others will want to meet with me more than twice ….this is your day so you decide and there is no extra fee for a rehearsal or a sound check or whatever!  Personally, I like to have a rehearsal just to put you at ease and to show your wedding party and family where to stand and what to do and also to check the timing of songs and aisle walks and iron out the creases—so to speak :)   I will also take the chance to get to know your two witnesses (both over 18) and advise them on their role during the ceremony.  We also need to complete some final paperwork as well.  As with everything, I will work with you to ensure a perfect day, your way.

The Ceremony

I will arrive at the venue at least 30 minutes prior to the ceremony commencing, dressed appropriately for the occasion.

I can/will bring the following items (free of charge) at your request:

· Table and two chairs for signing of the register

· Table covers

· Stylish quill pen

· PA system with lapel microphones and built in ipod/mp3 connectivity

We will complete the ceremony as decided and rehearsed and then I will provide you with your Marriage Certificate, a keepsake copy of your vows and a special gift from me.

After the Ceremony

I will lodge your paperwork with the appropriate authority and email you your registration number

I will send you a feedback form and would ask that you complete it honestly and fairly.  I take all feedback seriously and believe the best way to learn is to look at myself and my performance through the eyes of another.
